Welcome to Preschool Ministries

Serving the young children of Radius Church and their families.

(ages 3 months ~ 4 years)

How we do Ministry.

Preschool Ministries provides quality care and love for your child(ren) during weekly services and other events.

We provide safe and gentle care while taking the opportunity to “teach” your child(ren), through association and feelings -and- stories and crafts, the lasting relationship of Christ and His love for them.

  • What to bring

When packing a bag for your child(ren), please include the following labeled items:

    2-3 diapers

    security item (blanket, pacifier, …)

    a complete change of clothes

premeasured and labeled milk, formula, juice or water (as needed)

  • Preschool Children

    Check in / Check Out

Preschool Ministries is located in the Worship Center on the east side. Upon entering our jungle themed ministry area, you will find a lead staff member in the hallway waiting to escort you to your child(ren)’s classroom and help you check them in.* At this time, please notify the staff member of any issues we should be aware of (i.e. allergies, asthma, etc.). You will also be asked for a mobile number that you can be texted should a concern or questions arise while your child(ren) is in our care. Finally, you will be issued a security tag that a parent or designated adult will need to present upon check-out.

*Your future visits allow for a secure, easy check-in through the mobile app or check-in to take place at ministry entrances.

  • Saying Goodbye

We know saying goodbye can be hard, but we have found it is easier for children if a parent completes the check-in process then waves a quick good-bye and leaves for service. As you know, it is normal for little ones to have some separation anxiety. (This normally doesn’t last long, and parting becomes easier over time.)

Upon check-in a staff member will immediately try to create interest in a toy or activity, giving assurances to your child(ren) that you will return soon. If your child cries for more than 10-15 minutes, we will text you.

  • When your child is ill.

We miss your kids when they are not there, but per church policy, Preschool Ministries cannot accept children who have:

    • not been fever free (99.8 or less) for at least 24 hours without the aid of medication

    • a cough or runny nose (clear is okay)

    • sneezing due to a cold.

    • a rash *

    • diarrhea or vomiting

    • red, watery eyes *

    • parasitic (i.e. head lice) or fungal (i.e. ringworm) infection

*Children with symptoms/conditions caused by a non-contagious ailment maybe exempted if child has been cleared by a medical doctor. Doctor’s note required.

  • Staff and volunteers.

Our staff consists of paid workers and volunteers. Every room is staffed by at least two of these individuals (one of whom is a paid staff member). As well as passing a rigorous background and reference checks, all staff must have a positive relationship with Christ. In addition, paid staff hold current First Aid, AED and CPR certifications.

  • Health and safety.

Your child’s health and safety is a priority!

    • Only adults who have passed a rigorous background check and completed necessary training may enter a classroom or activity area when children are present.

    • Rooms and toys are thoroughly cleaned on a weekly basis.

    • Toys and equipment are age appropriate, in good working order, and not subject to any recall.

    • In an emergency situation, our safety plan calls for PSM staff to escort children to the northwest side of the playground for parental pick-up (as long as it is safe to do so).

Children in adult services.

If you wish to take your child to an adult service, sitting near an exit will allow you to leave easily should your child become restless or unhappy.

In addition, a “Mother’s Room” is available for mother’s who are nursing or have small children in their care. The live service can be watched via room television.
